The CDP® certification represents that the frontline staff and health care professional has received comprehensive knowledge in the area of dementia care, achievement in completing the Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care course /seminar, met the ICCDP requirements for CDP® certification, applied for the CDP® certification and received the CDP® certification.

Qualifications:

All tracks require completing the 7 -hour Alzheimer’s disease Dementia Care seminar presented by a CADDCT trainer.

Track 1: Have a 4- year college degree or nursing degree, certification or license in a health care profession and a minimum of one year paid full time experience.

Track 2: Certified or licensed in a health care profession and 1- year full time experience in a health care related profession.

Track 3: No license or certification (Your country does not require a license or certification to hold your position) and 1 -year full time paid experience in a health care related profession.

Alzheimer’s Disease Dementia Care seminar may be taken online or live from a CADDCT Certified Alzheimer’s Disease Dementia Care Trainer. The CADDCT Trainers will list the ADDC seminar on the calendar.

Grandfather option: If you have a Dementia certification or have completed a comprehensive Alzheimer’s Disease Dementia Care seminar from a national or international organization, you may be able to by pass the ICCDP required ADDC seminar. ICCDP will require course information.Examples of organizations that ICCDP will accept curriculums; National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners, Alzheimer’s Association, Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, CPI Crisis Prevention Institute, University of Scotland, Dementia Australia, NCCAP National Council of Certified Activity professionals and many more.

Note: It is up to the discretion of the ICCDP to approve or deny course work and/or Dementia certification from another source other than ICCDP, if the course content or Dementia certification does not meet the curriculum requirements. See “topics covered”. Your course work must include the topics listed below.

CEUs’s: The course is not CEU approved. You may check with your credentialing body to see if they will accept the ADDC Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care seminar as this topic should fit into their body of knowledge.

Course information: If you are taking the online ADDC seminar a link will be sent to you to download a digital student handout notebook. If you are taking the ADDC seminar with a CADDCT trainer, inquire with the trainer how the student handout notebook will be provided to you. At the end of the course a certificate of completion (not a certification will be sent to you). Once you complete the online evaluation, a CDP certification will be emailed to you.

Language: The online ADDC course is presented in English.

Steps to obtain CDP® certification as an individual or a corporate group

The CDP® certification is open to residents residing outside of the 50 states of the USA. If you live in the USA, please see our other division National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. The web address is www.nccdp.org

There are two ways to apply for the CDP certification

Option 1: Complete the online CDP application and take the 7 -hour online ADDC Alzheimer’s Disease Dementia Care seminar at ICCDP. The fee includes the application and the online course and student handout notebook in digital format.

The fee is $280.00 USD. Upon completing the course, test and evaluation, your CDP certification will be emailed to you.

Corporate Groups: A group is 10 or more. The rate includes the online course and the CDP application. The fee is $80.00 USD pp. The student handout notebook in digital format is $25.00 pp. Corporate Group option is available online only.

Option 2: Contact a CADDCT trainer listed on the calendar who is providing the ADDC Alzheimer’s Disease Dementia Care seminar live. Dates are listed on the calendar. The CADDCT trainers do not work for ICCDP and they set their own rates. Rate includes the student handout notebook.

For this option, the CDP certification is not included in the course fee.

Upon completing the live ADDC Alzheimer’s Disease Dementia Care 7 -hour seminar, return to ICCDP within 30 days and complete the CDP application, and within the application select the "Grandfather" option. You will be asked to upload your ADDC seminar certificate.

Your CADDCT trainer will provide you with a class certificate that you will upload to your application.

Payment: We only accept VISA, MASTERCARD and AMERICAN EXPRESS,DISCOVER.

Refunds: Once you submit payment, there is no refunds.

bullet Once you have submitted your application you will have access to your account page that contains the date you applied for certification, date you began the online course, date you completed the online course, date your certification was emailed to you and date your renewal reminder was sent to you.


Option 1: Completed online the CDP application and you are taking the online 7- hour ADDC Alzheimer’s Disease Dementia Care course.

Wait for approval of the CDP® application.

   bullet After approval, you will be emailed a link to access to the Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care curriculum that includes 10 videos. (To view and listen to the videos, we recommend using a computer with speakers.)

   bullet We also recommend using either Google Chrome or Internet Explorer Edge

bullet Complete the online ADDC curriculum and test within 30 days. After 30 days your account will be deleted. You will need to submit your application and payment again.

bullet Once you complete and pass the test, you will be emailed the link to an online evaluation.

bullet Complete the online evaluation.

bullet Once you complete the online evaluation your CDP® certification will be emailed to you.

Currently the online course is presented in English.


Option 2: View the calendar to find a trainer presenting the seminar live in your country or time zone.

Step 1: Register directly with the trainer. The seminar fee will include your student handout notebook.

Upon completing the course, your CADDCT trainer will provide you with a seminar certificate. THIS IS NOT YOUR CERTIFICATION.

Next return to ICCDP.net within 30 days of completing your ADDC seminar.

Step 2: Select CDP and apply online. Within the CDP application, SELECT GRANDFATHER AND you will be asked to upload your ADDC class certificate. Complete the CDP application and proceed towards payment. Fee $170.00 USD

Your application will be reviewed. If in order, your CDP certification will be emailed to you.


Renewal:

bullet To maintain your CDP certification, you will be required to renew every two years.

bullet It is your responsibility to notify ICCDP of email address changes.

bullet We will email a renewal notification to you in 22 months.

  bullet The renewal application fee is $220.00 USD. This includes 4- hour renewal course work. Link will be provided to you, once you have renewed your application.
      bullet After completing the renewal application, you will be directed to the ICCDP renewal course link.
      bullet Once you renew online, take the renewal courses, and complete an evaluation form, your new CDP® certification will be emailed to you.

Corporate Groups: The corporate group administrator will be sent an email of all employee’s certifications who are up for renewal. The corporate group administrator will log into the corporate group account and select each employee who is due for renewal and submit payment.

Renewal fee is: $80.00 USD PP. If the employee is no longer with your organization, please delete from your corporate group account.

You must email a letter that includes: Your name, address, phone number and email address, reason for ICCDP denial and why you are appealing the decision. The ICCDP Executive Appeal committee, will reach a decision after reviewing yourapplication. All decisions reached by the Executive Appeal committee are final. Please allow 6 weeks to process. Your money will be refunded if you are denied certification.

If your account is deleted because you did not complete your application within 7 days or the course within 30 days of the approval letter, there is no refund.

If your application is denied, you are issued a full refund within 7 days of the denial letter.
